We shoot in factories, depots and yards. The footage is only as good as the hour we were allowed on the floor.
## Recce, access and safety first
Walk the site beforehand with the person who runs it, agree the areas and the hours, and confirm inductions, protective equipment and escorts. A shoot that starts with a safety surprise loses its morning, and the morning is usually the light you wanted.
## Shoot the essentials before the beautiful things
Order the shot list so the shots the film cannot exist without are captured in the first two hours. Interviews go somewhere quiet and away from moving plant; assume the floor will be too loud and plan the audio accordingly.

- GuideInterviewing a customer so the story is usableA customer interview fails when it collects praise instead of specifics. The questions that produce usable footage are about the situation before, the decision, and what changed operationally.
- DocumentationHanding a design system to a development teamA handover that consists of a file and a call will be re-interpreted within a month. What travels is the decision behind each component, written down beside it.
- GuideBriefing creators for usable product footageMost creator footage is unusable in paid because the brief asked for a review instead of a demonstration. Here is the brief we send, and the shot list we ask for.
- GuideDesigning a report people actually finishIndustry reports are commissioned as marketing and designed as documents. The ones that get read are structured around findings, with charts that make a single point each.
